Fruit Pleathers [Vegan]

I decided to pull out the dehydrator and experiment with fruit. These are a delicious dehydrated fruit treat. No need to buy packaged fruit-to-go bars when you have the skills to make your own.

Here’s how to make your own fruit pleathers:

4 cups of chopped fruit (I used 1 apple, a few stalks of rhubarb (from my garden) and strawberries)
1/4 cups of water or fruit juice
A few heaping spoonfuls of honey

1. Throw fruit and liquid of choice in a saucepan and cook on medium until it looks soupy (see below).

2. Take off heat and stir in honey.

3. Put contents in food processor and blend until smooth.

4. Pour 3/4 – 1 cup of mixture onto parchment paper on a dehydrator rack. Place in dehydrator on high for 8-10 hours.

*Note:If you aren’t weird enough to have a dehydrator at home I’ve been told you can do this in your oven on a low heat like 140F for the same amount of time-but I haven’t yet tried this.
